KENOSHA — Learning Express of Kenosha, 7410 118th Ave., will host Chanda Bell, author of “The Elf on the Shelf,” for a book signing from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.
Inspired by a Christmas tradition in her family, Bell co-authored “The Elf on the Shelf” with her mother Carol Aebersold.
“The Elf on the Shelf is a great product for many reasons,” said Mary Lewis, owner of Learning Express. “It encourages imagination and makes for some great family fun while answering that tricky question about how Santa really knows who’s been naughty or nice. I think people will really respond to the magic of the story.”
The Elf on the Shelf first arrived in the Aebersold home in the 1970s. His sole responsibility was to watch the children’s behavior and report to Santa each night. Every morning he was in a different place somewhere in the house, waiting to be found by eager believers. Now an entire generation of families can take home their very own North Pole Scout Elf as Bell tours the nation, sharing her childhood tradition and signing copies of the book.
