Clinton plans everything
What a coincidence! Iraq is attacked by the United States on the exact same day that Bill Clinton expects to have four Articles of Impeachment leveled against him!
This much-needed and inevitable attack was not deployed a year ago, not six months ago, and not even one month ago when this administration was supposedly at the end of its rope with this petty dictator, but gave him ``one more chance" to allow UN weapons inspectors to do their job. A few questions were asked as to the hesitation... it's clear now that our president was just waiting for a better time.
The reason Saddam got another chance exactly one month ago, was that at that time Clinton was riding high. The November elections had not been as bad as predicted, and maybe there was a chance to weasel out of this impeachment foolishness after all, so he ``saved" the inevitable attack on Iraq for later, probably a time in the future when his luck might change and he might be in a lot more trouble and need a big-time diversion, which of course was the day he was going to be impeached.
Right now you're probably thinking that this ploy, using the U.S. military and putting your sons and daughters in harm's way to further his political ambitions, is even beyond the scope of Bill Clinton. Get your head out of the sand and think again! Everything he does is well planned, orchestrated and poll driven.

Students do do good deeds
The students at Horlick High School have been overwhelmingly gracious in their holiday charity drives the last number of years. This year was no exception. The students at Horlick raised just over $6,000 to be donated to charities. In a move that required a vote from the student congress (consisting of about 100 students), a last minute request to help out Racine's sister city, Bluefields, was approved.
As many are aware, Bluefields, Nicaragua, was hit by Hurricane Mitch. McKinley Middle school students started the Bluefields relief effort on their own, raising over $600. The amount reached $1,000 after Mitchell Middle School joined in. Horlick's response to the disaster relief was equally extraordinary. Not only was an $800 check presented to the Sister City Council at Horlick's holiday assembly, but another $200 private donation was added at the assembly, too.
The impact students have is often underestimated. The students of Horlick, McKinley and Mitchell are to be commended for being role models in their charity efforts. They found a place in their hearts for needy people here and part way across the globe. They certainly deserve thanks and recognition from the Racine community and Bluefields.
If you would like to add to the Bluefields relief effort, stop in at any of the Bank of Elmwood branches.

Horlick students earn thanks
On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Youth Advisory Board, and the staff of SAFE Haven, I would like to thank the administration, faculty, staff, student government and most of all the entire student body of Horlick High School for the generous donation of $2,500 to our program. We gratefully accept this donation with amazement, admiration and appreciation for the dedication and generosity it took to raise that kind of money.
This is the second year in a row that SAFE Haven has been blessed with a gift like this from Horlick High School. I attended the Holiday Rally held on Dec. 18 and was impressed with the spirit and joy that filled the field house.
SAFE Haven continues to be a refuge for the youth in crisis of Racine County, and to receive a donation like this from Horlick High School is touching indeed.

Thanks for the support
I would like to thank the Burlington community, friends, students, staff and my family for the tremendous support during the difficult situation that I have had to recently address at Burlington High School. I have received overwhelming support through prayers, letters, cards, telephone calls and personal contacts from people across the state of Wisconsin and this country. In addition, I would like to thank those who have ffered individualized support to my three children who attend school here. Without such support and caring, the strength of my family would have definitely been affected.
Your caring messages have certainly helped me get through this experience. Please accept my sincere thanks and blessings.
