RACINE - Alice M. (nee: Sears) Zamecnik, 77, passed away at St. Mary's Medical Center on Monday, January 4, 1999.

A lifetime resident, she was born in Racine on November 13, 1921. She was married to Elmer Zamecnik on July 7, 1951.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and volunteered at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center and Lutheran High School Thrift Shop.

Surviving are her husband, Elmer; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary (Valerie) Zamecnik; two granddaughters, Nicole and Tricia Zamecnik; one sister, Mildred Slater; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Frank (Mabel) Zamecnik, Fritz Zamecnik, all of Racine, and Edgar (Arlene) Zamecnik of Kentucky; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy Borowsky of Racine, Josie (Henry) Kuhns of Palm Beach, Fla., and Arlene (Stanley) Hanek; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Zamecnik and Shirley Zamecnik, all of Racine; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Sears and Arthur Sears; and a sister, Ruth Andresen.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Thursday, January 7, 1999, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Randall Poppe officiating. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church or to Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Cancer Center have been suggested by the family.
