Manufacturers to receive development grants
By Journal Times staff
RACINE - Thirteen Racine County manufacturers have been awarded grants totaling $40,000 from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration.
The federal grants are designed to help the companies underwrite the cost of more than $120,000 of company-sponsored business enhancement and technology application projects. The agency selected two areas in Wisconsin, Racine County and the city of Milwaukee, because of the significant hardships felt by the region's manufacturing companies during the past few years of poor economic
conditions.
In Racine County, the grant program is facilitated by Racine County Economic Development Corp. and the Racine County Small Business Development Center in cooperation with Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
Companies receiving grants are Ad-Tech, Custom Component Co., DuraColor, Eckmann Pressed Metal, Gormac, ISP Stitching & Bindery Products, Marlo Inc., Poclain Hydraulics, Precise Corp., Master Appliance, Multi Products and Quick Cable and U.S. Tanker & Fire Apparatus.
