* CALEDONIA Couple tied up, robbed in their home An elderly couple was tied up and robbed in their home around 10 a.m. Sunday, according to televised reports.
The perpetrator entered the couple's home following a knock on the door, which leads police to believe that the victims may have known their assailant, the report said. Cash, credit cards and the family van were stolen, but the couple was not seriously hurt. The van was found abandoned, several miles from the crime scene.
During a television interview, Lt. Keith Stannis of the Caledonia Police Department told reporters that one of the victims was able to use her teeth to operate the phone and call police after the robbery.
The Caledonia Police Department was not releasing any information about this incident Sunday night.
The crash occurred when a Jeep Cherokee, driven by Esfrain Lechuga, 16, turned in front of another vehicle, driven by James Bestel, 46. All of the injured parties were in the vehicle driven by Esfrain, and all were Illinois residents. Bestel, of New Berlin, was not
hospitalized.
