KENOSHA - WGTD (91.1 FM) is owned and operated as a public service of Gateway Technical College and is an affiliate of Wisconsin Public Radio.

"The Morning Show" airs every weekday between 8:10 and 9 a.m.

Monday - Gregory Mayer, associate professor of biological sciences at UW-Parkside, and Eric Hileman, director of conservation, education and animal welfare for the Racine Zoological Society, speak on the topic "The Life of a Costa Rican Rain Forest." They're giving a public presentation by the same name Dec. 14 at Parkside.

Tuesday - The monthly visit from the United Environmental Council features Dr. Joy Wolf, associate professor of geography at UW-Parkside. She has undertaken a research project studying one of our region's most serious invasive plant species, garlic mustard.

Wednesday - The guest will be Obie Yadgar, a well-known classical music announcer in the past for both WFMR and WNIB. He has written his first novel, "Will's Music."

Thursday - Sam Borden, the president of Gateway Technical College, pays his last visit to the morning show before his impending retirement.

Friday - The guest will be Susan Clancy, who has written a well-researched book called "Alien Abduction," which seeks to clarify why so many people believe so fervently that they have been abducted by aliens and been prey to their experiments. She explains the absurdity of such claims and explores what may be at the root of such experiences. Time permitting, there'll be a rebroadcast of a portion of a "Morning Show" program from many years ago in which Bill Guy interviewed the director of an episode of PBS' "Nova" which explored the same topic.

Saturday - Programming includes "Financial Overview" at 9 a.m., "Breakfast Bytes" at 9:45 a.m., "Education Matters" at 10:30 a.m. and "Community Matters" at 11:15 a.m.
