If you're a young, gifted and black female between the ages of 17 and 27 and live in Wisconsin, then think about entering the 2006 Miss Black Wisconsin USA Scholarship Pageant.

Participants will compete for up to $10,000 in cash and prizes in the pageant scheduled for Aug. 25-26 in Milwaukee at the Mother Kathryn Daniels Center, 3500 W. Mother Daniels Way.

The Wisconsin pageant is part of the national Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant system, founded in 1986, and provides an opportunity for black women to showcase their talents, intellect, creativity and inner/outer beauty.

Contestants will be evaluated in five categories: personal interviews, talent, on-stage speech, leadership/ entrepreneurship and evening gown wear. A swim suit category is not part of the competition, as contestants will be competing based on their values, talent, intellect, health and ambitions.

The first-place winner of the Wisconsin pageant will receive up to $10,000 in cash and prizes, media exposure and go on to compete in the national 2006 Miss Black USA Scholarship Pageant in October.   To complete an application and learn more about the 2006 pageant, visit the official pageant Web site at: http://www.
