Local residents take leadership posts in Hispanic organization

RACINE COUNTY - Two Racine residents were named state officers for the League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, at the organization's state convention on May 27.

Rosa Salinas-Hultman of Racine was elected deputy state director of women's activities, and Jose R. Palacios of Racine was appointed deputy state director of youth.

Also, Yolanda Santos Adams of Kenosha was re-elected state

director.


LULAC works to advance the economic conditions, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of Hispanic Americans. The organization has more than 700 councils nationwide, including six in southeastern

Wisconsin.

LULAC's 77th national convention will be held at the Midwest Airline Center in Milwaukee from June 26 to July 1, 2006. For convention information and registration, contact the LULAC National Office at (202) 833-6130 or visit the Web site at: http://www.LULAC.org Casting call for `The Bachelor' MILWAUKEE - Producers of ABC's "The Bachelor" are back in southeastern Wisconsin, looking for local women to audition for the next series installment, "The Bachelor in Rome."


A casting call is scheduled for June 7, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Charcoal Grill & Rotisserie in Hales Corners, 5171 S. 108th St.

Women who wish to audition for "The Bachelor in Rome" must complete a brief questionnaire that can be obtained on the entertainment page of WISN-TV's local Web site, theMilwaukeeChannel.com. Questionnaires will also be available at the casting call.

In 2003, producers of the show selected Oconomowoc's Tina Panas to vie for Andrew Firestone's attention on the spring season of "The Bachelor."

"The Bachelor in Rome" will air Monday nights this fall on WISN-TV (Channel 12).

Senior Center to host senior information fair  RACINE - Senior citizens of Racine are invited to attend a Senior Information Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Belle City Senior Center, 201 Goold St.

More than 20 exhibitors will have information available for seniors in all walks of life. Family members are also invited. Door prizes will be awarded and coffee, kringle and food samples will be available.
