Talk of The Town: Local farm helps you get over the birthday hump
My husband once threatened me that he was going to announce my birthday by putting one of those large wooden critters in our front yard. I was horrified and nervous all day. Thankfully, he came to his senses and sent me flowers instead.
Although that was quite a while ago, I've always wanted to pay him back for the teasing somehow. His birthday is approaching and I may have just found a way ...
Jo-Don Farms in Caledonia has started to offer a new service for birthday well-wishers and the like. It is called a Birthday Camel Gram.
The company recently sent a live Bactrian camel to visit Cindy Myhre of Racine on her birthday while she was working at Twin Disc Inc. Cindy was given a camel ride around the Twin Disc parking lot, photographs and a special certificate that declared her, "Over the hill, but just between the humps."
Jo-Don Farms offers educational and recreational animal programs and displays throughout the United States and Canada. From coati mundis to camels, they have over 300 animals that work together to make special events fun and memorable.
If you're interested in booking a Birthday Camel Gram, or just want more information on it, call Jo-Don Farms at (262) 835-2777 or visit their Web site at:
Jo-Don Farms is located on Nicholson Road between Husher and Franksville,
