UW regents to make first visit to Parkside since 1999

SOMERS - The University of Wisconsin-Parkside hosts the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents Thursday and Friday. This is the first time the system's entire governing body has visited the campus since 1999.

Among items on the agenda is the study on the future of the UW-Waukesha campus, Chippewa Valley Technical College's proposal for liberal arts transfer authority and the UW System's accountability report.


Regents will also receive an update on UW-Parkside's master plan, which includes more than $100 million in near-term building projects. They will participate in a ground-breaking ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for one of the building projects, the expansion of the Parkside Union.

Earlier on Thursday, UW-Stout Chancellor Charles W. Sorensen will make a presentation to the UW System's Education Committee on the Menomonie campus' polytechnic proposal.
