Injury crash temporarily closes highway

TOWN OF ROCHESTER - Five people were reported transported to hospitals late Friday night as a result of a two-vehicle accident at approximately 11:30 p.m. at Highway 36 and Highway D just east of the Village of Rochester. However, Racine County Sheriff's Department officials reported Saturday that none of the injuries appeared to be serious.
Radio reports indicates that Rochester rescue took one patient to Children's Memorial Hospital in Wauwatosa and another patient to Memorial Hospital of Burlington. Waterford rescue crews took another three patients to Memorial Hospital.
Wind Lake rescue crews were put on standby for a time late friday and early Saturday until the Rochester and Waterford ambulances could return to their jurisdictions.
Further details were not readily available Saturday.
