In what is now a Sunday tradition throughout Racine County, we need your help answering the following questions. Offer up what you know on the following and we’ll use the information to spread joy and goodwill to all through a simple question-and-answer column.

So help answer these questions and maybe you’ll help change the world. All right, maybe not, but we’ll really appreciate your help. Use the contact information listed at the bottom of the column.

I live on the north side near Zoo Beach. Several times in the past few weeks there have been very large swarms of dragonflies. I have never seen this here before. My daughter thinks it is due to the unusual amount of mosquitoes in the area. Do you know why they are here?

I live in the Rochester area. I see “TW” markings painted on the road throughout the area. Any idea what they are for?

We have a Cruser 5th wheel and the sheets on the bed are between a regular size and a queen size. I would like to know if anyone knows where I can buy the correct size with out paying a fortune for them.

Can you find out when Sheridan Road between highways 11 and KR is going to be completed? Also, find out why it took 18 months to redo a three-mile stretch of road when much bigger projects are completed in a shorter time period. Is the contractor being penalized for taking so long, or is the state just throwing money away?

Why doesn’t Racine have a Boys & Girls Club of America? Have there been any efforts to start organizing one and, if so, who would you contact?

Is there a place to find what areas within Racine County that are in a flood plain? Are there maps available somewhere?

Every time there is a hard rain, my wife always says “if this were snow it would be a blizzard.” What would an inch of rain equate to in snow accumulation, if the circumstances were right for accumulation?

Why is it that when you enter any convenience store anywhere you need to wear shoes? When I went to visit someone in the Racine County Jail on Sunday I was told to remove my shoes and walk barefoot through the metal detectors because my shoes were beeping. Is this a regular occurrence? And if so, how sanitary is this? They could have easily used their wand to test my shoes.

What happened to the Odyssey Restaurant (it’s closed) on Washington Avenue across the street from the old cinema?

I live in Indian Hills. Is it true that Indians were buried here and that’s where the name and all the hills came from?

Whatever happened to the money that people donated for the Imaginarium Museum that was supposed to go into the old Zahn’s building Downtown?

Sheridan Woods Florist on Durand Avenue has on their marquee “Moving Sale.” Are they leaving the area? If so, where are they going?
