Man injured by stove fire
RACINE - A man who attempted to put out a fire on his stove Sunday night received a small burn to his arm, Racine firefighters said Monday.
The man, whose named was not released, was cooking in the oven when a build-up of grease between the stove burners and the oven ignited. The man attempted to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher and flour. During the incident, he received a burn to his arm.
Firefighters were called to the lower unit at 1954 Lawn St. at 7:48 p.m. The man had nearly put the fire out by the time they arrived.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene, however he refused transport to the hospital.
