Fire ruins part of house, displaces family in Mount Pleasant
BY JOURNAL TIMES STAFF
MOUNT PLEASANT — Fire destroyed a portion of a village home Friday and displaced a family.
No one was home at 6517 Primrose Way when the fire ignited, firefighters said. The parents were at work and the children were at school.
The fire was reported when neighbors saw smoke coming from the house around 11 a.m.
Initial reports at the scene suggested the fire began in a back bedroom area of the house and burned through part of the floor. The flames were contained to that area, but the home sustained thorough smoke damage.

Neighbors said homes in the area are fairly new, with most having been built in the last five years.
The cause of the fire is unknown and the incident is under investigation.
