MILWAUKEE — Five public defenders from Racine and Kenosha will be honored today as Unsung Heroes in an event sponsored by the Wisconsin Law Journal.

Joyce Daniel, Jamaal Ramsey and Sandra Wise of the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Racine office and Selia Patterson and Carol Peters of the Kenosha office will all be recognized as 2008 Unsung Hero honorees for their continued hard work and dedication to Wisconsin’s legal community. The awards will be presented Friday at a luncheon in Milwaukee.

“Our Racine and Kenosha offices are each dedicated to providing the very best for our clients,” said Adrienne Moore, first assistant for the State Public Defender’s Racine Region — which includes the Racine and Kenosha trial offices. She said their work is a team effort and everyone in the local offices joins her in recognizing the honored attorneys.

A total of 56 people from across Wisconsin will be honored as Unsung Hero honorees.
