UW-Parkside, CATI honored for role in technology-based economic development
The University of Wisconsin-Parkside School of Business and Technology and the Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation, or CATI, were jointly honored in Phoenix recently. The International Economic Development Council recognized the university and its Sturtevant-based partner for technology-based economic development.
The council called UW-Parkside/CATI a "clear standout" among organizations serving population centers of 50,000 to 200,000 people for the development of inovaDRIVE, an economic development strategy to meet the technology needs of small- and mid-sized manufacturers in southeastern Wisconsin.
CATI Executive Director Matt Wagner said in a news release that inovaDRIVE uses faculty and students, along with leaders in large corporate research and development divisions, to assess a small or mid-sized business' technology needs and either develop or acquire the appropriate technology or solution.
For more information about inovaDRIVE and the UW-Parkside/CATI partnership, call Wagner at (262) 898-7512.
SC Johnson named one of Working Mother's '100 Best Companies'
SC Johnson has been named one of Working Mother's "100 Best Companies" for its family-oriented culture and commitment to helping employees strike a good work/life balance.
The list was based on an application of 575 questions. Seven areas were measured and scored: work force profile; compensation; child care; flexibility; time off and leaves; family-friendly programs; and company culture. The application checked the usage, availability and tracking of programs as well as the accountability of managers who oversee them.
The 100 best companies will be honored in October in a ceremony at the Work/Life Congress event in New York City.
