RACINE - As a result of one E3 group's summer work, the youths will be leading green Downtown tours Thursday.
The purpose of the free tours is to raise awareness about Downtown businesses with green practices and/or products. Everyone who attends will receive a map and "Green Guide" to Downtown businesses.
The map they will get contains descriptions of all the places to be visited on the tour.
Tours will leave DP Wigley, 234 Wisconsin Ave., at 10:15, 10:45 and 11:15 a.m. People are asked to gather slightly before the start of their chosen tour.
Each tour will end at Cup Of Hope coffee shop, 507 Sixth St.
The "Green Guide" was compiled by youths from the Racine County Workforce Development Center's E3 (Employ, Engage and Enrich) program. They have been meeting this summer with business owners in the Downtown area.
