RACINE - The Racine County Entrepreneur and Inventor Club, a chapter of the Wisconsin Entrepreneur Network, will host a panel of business advisers at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Curative Services Inc., 2503 Lincolnwood Court.
This panel of advisers will present to local entrepreneurs the opportunities and resources available from the organizations they represent. The organizations include Gateway Technical College, the Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation, Small Business Development Center, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Carthage College.
The club's mission is to help local entrepreneurs and inventors move their ideas or inventions ahead by providing information, proven industry contacts and net-
working opportunities.
One regular club participant, an inventor, owns a local heat-treating company and developed a unique heat-treating process.
With the help of a patent attorney they met at a club meeting, the inventor and his partner applied for their patent and are in the process of negotiating with potential customers.
Another inventor had an expired patent for a novelty item. He was encouraged by a patent attorney at a meeting to revive the process.
He is now pursuing potential customers for this product.
