Appointments and Promotions: Dr. Sara Nicholson has joined Warren Eye Care Center, 4060 N. Main St. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she attended optometry school at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She completed externship training in primary care, contact lenses, low vision, visual therapy, and advanced care.
The board of directors of the Root-Pike Watershed Initiative Network announced that Susan Greenfield has been hired as executive director of the organization. Greenfield is an award-winning environmentalist and former chairman of the Town of Caledonia.

Honors and Awards: BenchmarkPortal and the Center for Customer-Driven Quality at Purdue University recognized Runzheimer International's Customer Service Call Center as a "Certified Center of Excellence" placing the Runzheimer Call Center among the top 5 percent of call centers evaluated.
Paul Chaffee, senior editor, and editor and publisher, best-selling author, photo director and a professor emeritus, will be among five members to be inducted to the Central Michigan University Journalism Hall of Fame Nov. 3. Chaffee is editor and publisher of The Saginaw News.
The staff of Bank of Elmwood earned recognition for their outstanding financial education efforts with an award from the Wisconsin Bankers Association.
