Appointments and promotions: Dr. John Box, JA Worldwide's (Junior Achievement's) vice president of product development and support, has been promoted to senior vice president, education. In his new role, Box will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of all Junior Achievement's K-12 work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy curricula, which currently reach 8.3 million youth a year globally.
Sarah Wozny, DPT, CSCS, NASM-PES will join the Racine location of PT Plus located at 1300 S. Green Bay Road. Wozny is an experienced physical therapist who joins PT Plus after working in the St. Louis area. She specializes in patients with athletic injuries. Her emphasis is "return to sport," focusing on getting athletes back in the game. She helps patients with all types of injuries, specializing in shoulder and knee problems.
Honors and Awards: David Zablotney, M.D., family medicine at Aurora Health Center in Racine, received national recognition for providing quality care to his patients with diabetes from The National Committee of Quality Assurance and the American Diabetes Association. To receive the recognition, physicians submit data that demonstrates performance meeting key diabetes care measures. These measures include careful control of blood sugar, cholestero and blood pressure, and regular performance of diabetic eye and feet exams.
The U.S. Small Business Administration recently honored Johnson Bank for attaining Preferred Lender status with the agency. The Preferred Lenders Program is another step in SBA's process of "streamlining" the procedures necessary to provide financial assistance to the small business community.
Under the program, SBA delegates loan approval, closing, and most servicing and liquidation authority and responsibility to the selected lenders.
Elections: Russell Weyers, president and COO of Johnson Bank, will serve as the 2008-09 chair of the Wisconsin Bankers Association. Weyers will serve as the past chair of the association in 2009-2010. He began working for Johnson Bank in 1995 serving in various roles including president of Johnson Bank. In 2001, Weyers became executive vice president of strategic development at Johnson Financial Group, the $5.2 billion financial services holding company of Johnson Bank and Johnson Insurance. Today, he serves as the chief operating officer of Johnson Financial Group.
