Appointments and promotions: Debra Miller has joined Aurora Health Care as vice president of corporate affairs in the South Region, which encompasses Kenosha, Racine and Walworth counties. In her previous position, Miller led a team of professional communicators who successfully implemented an integrated marketing and communications plan for the only private, historically black college or university classified as a doctoral/research-intensive institution in the country. In addition, she has worked with health care facilities such as the Morehouse School of Medicine Family Practice Center, the Broward County Hospital District, The Preferred Medical Group, Coral Gables Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Eastern Virginia Health Systems Agency.
Upton Thomas III has joined the behavioral health department serving Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints. Thomas is a psychiatrist who most recently served as assistant clinical professor with the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Thomas received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He completed a residency program in psychiatry at MCW Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee where he received AODA training in inpatient, outpatient and residential medicine through the Medical College of Wisconsin. Thomas is board eligible and his interests include treatment of depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, eating disorders, sleep disorders, smoking cessation and substance abuse. He also provides consultations for adolescent patients. Thomas' primary office location is 1320 Wisconsin Ave. and he can be reached at (262) 687-2380.
