Appointments and promotions: Design North has hired Zeynep Tangun-Kaplan as a senior designer. Tangun-Kaplan's packaging experience includes having worked on such accounts as Dial, Oscar Mayer, Pepsi, Ahold USA, Lifesavers, World Kitchen and Quaker.

Matthew McBurney has been promoted to the position of director - commercial products North America at Modine Manufacturing Co.. McBurney succeeds Thomas Cromwell, formerly vice president of Modine's commercial products group, who was recently promoted to regional vice president - Americas within the company. McBurney, a 17-year Modine veteran, will oversee the company's commercial products group business throughout North America.

Laura Terry and Cori Saldana have been hired as case managers at Careers Industries.

Terry previously worked for the Workforce Development Center; she has also volunteered in Careers' Integrated Day Services program.

Gina Bartel has been promoted from unit to division manager at the fashion jewelry company, lia sophia. As a celebration of her entrepreneurship, Bartel has met or exceeded her personal sales and recruiting goals to achieve this prestigious level of leadership.
