Program aims to prepare businesses for disaster response

STURTEVANT - A half-day program about preparing businesses for disaster response and relief will be offered from 7:30 to noon Oct. 9 at the Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation, 2320 Renaissance Blvd.

Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce will sponsor a program along with Racine County Emergency Management, the American Red Cross, Network Specialists and We Energies.

The cost is $45.

The session will address:

Local emergency response to spring flooding.

Statewide support.

Insurance issues.

Information technology data recovery.

Energy issues.

Business Expo

The Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce Business to Business Expo will provide a preview of a six-part series on customer service.

Series 21 will be offered for the third time, starting Nov. 14. The preview session will be "Essentials of Customer Service," led by consultant Marcia Gauger. Her session from 1:30-3 p.m. Oct. 9 will open the expo in the Green Room of

Racine Festival Hall, 5 Fifth St. The preview is free to those with booths at the expo and costs $45 for others.

Series 21 runs from Nov. 14-April 24 at the Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation, 2320 Renaissance Blvd. in Sturtevant. People can attend any number of sessions, each on a different topic.

The cost to RAMAC members is $95 per three-hour session or $475 for the whole series. For nonmembers the cost is $145 per session or $725 for the whole series.
