STURTEVANT - An information technology firm called ictect has joined Gateway Technical College's Business and Incubation Growth Program at the Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation, or CATI.

CATI, 2320 Renaissance Blvd., is a nonprofit organization serving as a source of innovation in Southeastern Wisconsin. According to Gateway, this collaborative project between Gateway and ictect promises to create new business opportunities within the region.

Pradeep Jain, president of ictect, is a Wind Lake area resident and has chosen to place his start-up firm at CATI. He has 15 years of experience in managing information technology for large and mid-size clients.

In July Gateway obtained an exploratory grant award in partnership with ictect to promote information technology "modeling and architecture" skills in the Milwaukee region. The grant aims to promote innovative ways of career development in that field.

The college will apply for a demonstration grant in November for which it will need eight pilot businesses to deliver the training. For information, contact Therese Fellner, Gateway director of business development, (262) 898-7524 or fellnert@gtc.edu.
