Johnson releases 'Soul' ad
RACINE - SC Johnson has released a new ad titled "Soul" as part of its ongoing campaign featuring the values of the company and emphasizing the company's commitment to sustainability.
The company and its brands including Windex, Pledge, Ziploc and Glade, are led today by the founder's great-great-grandson, Fisk Johnson, the fifth generation to lead the company.
"As a family-run company, SC Johnson has the ability to focus on the future - doing what's right for families all around the world - and not on the next earnings report or market drop," the company stated in a news release.
The ad will run on several cable networks, including Animal Planet, ABC Family, Discovery Health, The Weather Channel, Hallmark, HGTV, National and various print publications.
Assembly to honor labor leader Rudy Kuzel Thursday
MADISON - State Rep. Cory Mason (D-Racine) announced Wednesday that the state Assembly will take action Thursday on a resolution honoring Rudy Kuzel, former president of United Auto Workers Local 72, who died Oct. 1.
Assembly Joint Resolution 86, authored by Mason, celebrates Kuzel's life and legacy. The resolution will be read Thursday, the last day of the Legislature's fall session.
The resolution details and honors Kuzel's life, public service and commitment to the Wisconsin labor movement. Kuzel worked at American Motors Corp. and then Chrysler in Kenosha for 38 years. He was president of UAW Local 72 during the shutdown of the auto assembly operations in Kenosha in 1988.
Numerous legislators joined Mason in introducing the resolution.
Mocha Lisa grand opening week
CALEDONIA - The new owners of Mocha Lisa Coffeehouse, Sue and Scott Brucker, will celebrate buying the business from Nov. 9-13.
The grand opening week will feature: Monday, free 8-ounce coffees while supplies last; "Double punch Tuesdays," a customer rewards program; Wednesday, featured artist Catherine Sauvage and her European-influenced jewelry and gifts; Thursday, instant giveaways; and Friday, a grand prize gift basket drawing.
Mocha Lisa has also added gluten-free bars and plan to add more organic bakery options.
