Getting Ready for Labor and Birth: Weekday classes are offered in three parts from 6-8 p.m. Choose Mondays, beginning the first Monday of the month, or Wednesdays, beginning the second Wednesday of the month. Weekend classes are also offered in two parts from 9 a.m.-noon on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Cost is $50 per couple. LOOK GOOD, FEEL BETTER: This program is especially for women undergoing radiation treatment and chemotherapy to help enhance their appearance. A volunteer cosmetologist will demonstrate how women use makeup, wigs, turbans and other accessories to restore self-image, confidence and sense of control. 5-6:30 p.m. Sept. 8. Free.

Breathe Better, Live Better: A class to help you quit smoking and quit tobacco. 6-7:30 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 8-29. Free.

Breastfeeding: Learn Before You Return to Work or School: Classes are offered from 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 9 (on the second Tuesday of the month). Fee: $7. Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, Health Pavilion, 3821 Spring St.

Infant Massage - Learn to Massage Your Baby: Certified prenatal massage instructor and licensed massage therapist Tammy Naegeli will teach massage techniques. Learn interactive communication with your baby through loving touch during this four-session class. 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 9-30. Fee: $40 per infant.

Aurora Health Care

DIABETES PREVENTION AND control program: Dr. Dan Haller, of family medicine at Aurora Health Care, will address diabetic trends and present options for people to help manage their diabetes, speak about ways people struggling with the disease can encourage and empower themselves and how to anticipate their needs and provide information on how to balance insulin, activity, stress, food choices, and hormones to successfully control diabetes. This free program will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Union Grove Municipal Building, Community Room, 925 15th Ave., Union Grove. LIFE LINE SCREENING: These screenings assess the risk of stroke and vascular disease. Included are a carotid artery screening, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening and an ankle brachial index screening. A bone density screening will also be available.

BLOOD PRESSURE CLINICS

* Sept. 11, Hometown Village, 1415 13th Ave., Union Grove, 9:30-10 a.m.; Burlington Senior Center, 201 N. Main St., Burlington, 11 a.m.-noon.

Immunizations Clinics: Children's vaccines include: chicken pox, diphtheria, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, Hib meningitis, HPV, measles, meningococcal, mumps, pertussis, pneumococcal, polio, rotavirus, rubella and tetanus. Resident fees: Administration fee is $5 per visit. Maximum charge of $20 for a resident family. Resident's fees will be waived in the event of financial difficulties. Non-resident fees: Administration fee is $10 per visit. Maximum charge $40 for a non-resident family. Adults: Tetanus, $5 resident, $10 non-resident; hepatitis B, $35 for resident, $45 others; and TB skin test (must call 24 hours in advance to schedule), $5 residents and $10 others. Residents should check other locations for adult flu and pneumonia vaccines for ages 9 and older.

City of Racine Health Department

IMMUNIZATION CLINICS: The City of Racine offers immunization clinics in the City Hall Room 4, 730 Washington Ave., on the days listed. A $7 fee is requested for residents of the city of Racine, Elmwood Park and Wind Point; and $15 for non-residents; however, there is no charge if people are unable to pay. People should bring their child's current immunization records.

* Wednesdays - 1:15-4 p.m.

BLOOD PRESSURE CLINICS: The City of Racine Health Department will offer blood pressure screening by appointment for City of Racine, Elmwood Park and Wind Point residents. Call (262) 636-9431.

Visiting Nurse Community Care Inc.

Kenosha Visiting Nurse Association

SHINGLES vaccinations: People who have had chickenpox are at risk for shingles. The risk for shingles increases as a person gets older. Shingles is painful and can cause serious problems. There is no way to tell who will get shingles or when it may occur. A single dose of shingles vaccine is recommended for adults age 60 and older and for those who have not had shingles. It is a one-time vaccination. Fee: $225. The Kenosha Visiting Nurse Association offices are at 600 52nd St., Suite 300, Kenosha. Caledonia/Mount Pleasant Health Department

IMMUNIZATIONS: Immunizations for children and adults are offered at regularly scheduled clinics. Fees are $7 for all Caledonia, Mount Pleasant, Sturtevant and North Bay residents; $10 for all non-residents.

Immunizations include varicella (Chicken Pox), DTaP, Td, polio, HIB, MMR and hepatitis B. Immunizations for adults include tetanus and hepatitis B. TB skin tests are offered by appointment only by calling (262) 835-6429. Clients must return to the health department 48-72 hours later for the test to be read.
