ADULT CHOIR AT RACINE BIBLE CHURCH

The choir and various ensembles will minister in song, celebrating Christ's birth, at 9:15 a.m. Sunday at Racine Bible Church, 12505 Spring St., Sturtevant.

SERVICE AT TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St., will hold a single morning worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA AT ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH

The Zion Lutheran Church Choir will present Joseph Martin's "Season of Wonders - Celebrating the Miracle of Christmas" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church, 3805 Kinzie Ave.

The Christmas cantata uses familiar, not-so-familiar and new music to describe some of the miracles of the season. The Zion Bell Choir and other musicians will also play selected music during this special Christmas program. New toys will be collected during this program and donated to children for Christmas through the Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization. WINTER SOLSTICE MARKED AT OLYMPIA BROWN

The Rev. Dr. Tony Larsen observes Winter Solstice in "More Than One 'Reason for the Season' " during the 9 and 11 a.m. services Sunday at Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church, 625 College Ave. In this "YUULE" service, he explains the common threads in savior stories from around the world: light, stars and virgin births, to name just a few.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CHILDREN'S PROGRAM AT LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER

The Sunday School children of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer at 2417 Drexel Ave., along with the church choir, will present the program "Love for Our World" during the 9 a.m. service Sunday. This is a presentation of why we light the Advent Candles and the story of Jesus' birth in word and song. Directors are Shelia Fair and Sarah Cook. Lunch will follow in Fellowship Hall.

SEASONAL NATIVE AMERICAN WINTER SOLSTICE CEREMONY

David Granados (Eight Eagles) will lead the seasonal Native American Winter Solstice ceremony to recognize the sacred time of going inward with the coming of winter. The ceremony, which will include a pipe lighting and storytelling, will begin at 10 a.m. today at Lake House Health & Learning Center, 932 Lake Ave.

Refreshments to follow. Granados also expects to have native jewelry and other gifts available. Donations are accepted.

The newly published 2008-09 Guide To Health, Wellness and Creative Living will also be available to participants at no charge, both single copies and bundles for distributing.

DON SHIRE CHRISTMAS CONCERT PRESENTED AT CHRIST CHURCH

The Don Shire Christmas concert will be presented during the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday at Christ Church, 5109 Washington Ave.

Shire appears on Christian television and radio, and his music ministry has taken him to 30 countries in Africa, Europe and Central and South America.

CHRISTMAS SKIT AT GREGG CHAPEL

A Christmas Skit "I Didn't Know" will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Gregg Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 2237 Howe St.

Kasant Wilkerson II will present Christmas music on his Tenor Saxophone during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday.

A New Year's Eve service will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a potluck dinner. These events are open to the public.

The Sunday School children will tell the Christmas story during the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 4 Mile Road.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM AT EMMANUEL LUTHERAN

Sunday School children and members of the congregation will present the Sunday School Christmas program "The Evening News Hour" during the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 725 High St. This is a newsworthy program that lets attendees see "behind the scenes" in Bethlehem at the time of Jesus' birth.

There is also a 8 a.m. worship service with a coffee fellowship hour at 9:15 a.m. Sunday.

FOURTH SUNDAY IN ADVENT SERVICES AT MOUNT PLEASANT LUTHERAN

The fourth Sunday in Advent Holy Communion services will be held at 5 p.m. tonight and 7:15, 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road.

KIDS CLUB SERVICE AT COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

A worship service with Kids' Club and Nursery will be held during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 40 Ohio St.

LIVING NATIVITY AT SQUIRE FARM CHRISTMAS EVE

The 39th annual live nativity scene portraying story of the birth of Jesus will be celebrated Christmas Eve at the John and Cindy Squire farm, 26715 Church Road, Dover. Christmas in the Barn services begin at 5 p.m. and will be conducted every 30 minutes until the last service at 8:30 p.m. English Settlement United Methodist Church members take on the roles of Mary, Joseph and the shepherds, and a real infant will portray the baby Jesus. There will also be live animals. Visitors will sit in a heated barn with sheep, calves, a donkey and hear the story of Jesus' birth unfold as angels, shepherds, the three wise

men come and kneel before the baby in the manger. Church members will participate in readings and sing. Other members will serve as hosts, making sure everyone has enough coffee and cookies to eat while waiting.

The service honors the one who came that first Christmas 2,000 years ago. Christmas in the Barn started in 1969 as a church youth group project intended mainly for the congregation. It came to incorporate the community at large and has grown every year since.

There is no admission fee or any offering taken for the program. From Racine, take Highway 11 west to Highway 75, then north on Highway 75 to Church Road. Visitors will find a star atop of the barn lighting their way to the stable. Call (262) 534-6592 or (262) 534-6593 for more information.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAMS AT ST. PAUL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH

A Children's Christmas Play/Program begins at 9 a.m., and a special Christmas worship service begins at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1120 Grand Ave. Christmas dinner will be served after the 11 a.m. service in Fellowship Hall.

An End of Year Musical begins at 7 p.m. Friday featuring the Rev. Tim White and The New Holy Temple Baptist Church of Milwaukee, Mark Caston and Just for Christ Corral of Chicago.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT AT CHRISTIAN FAITH FELLOWSHIP CHURCH

A Christmas Concert featuring a 20-piece orchestra conducted by local recording artist Jeremy Scott, will be held during the 9:45 a.m. service Sunday at Gilmore Middle School, 2330 Northwestern Ave. The concert will also feature music ministry from the Christian Faith Fellowship Church Choir, Praise Team, and the anointed voices of "Secure."

n First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Ave., 8 p.m. service features Carol Christensen, violinist and Zachary Scott Johnson, violinist and classical guitar, who will perform violin duets and violin/classical guitar duos.

n Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3319 Washington Ave., 4 p.m. family service; 10 p.m. candlelight service.

n Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 2417 Drexel Ave., 4 p.m. program of music with church musicians Liz Rattle, Heidi Andes, Sarah Doreza, Will Doreza, Georgine Kudrna, Karen Brooks and Paul Berge.

n Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road, 1 p.m. service of Holy Communion, youth bells, choral and instrumental music; 4 p.m. candlelight service of Holy Communion with music by the Brass Ensemble, Bell Choirs, Cherub Choir, and Messenger Choir; and 11 p.m. candlelight service of Holy Communion with music by the Brass Ensemble and Senior Choir.

n Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church, 625 College Ave., 4 p.m. Family Christmas Pageant is oriented to families with younger children; 6 and 8 p.m., candlelight services are oriented to adults and older children.

n Plymouth Congregational Church, 1143 College Ave., 7 p.m. traditional 18th Century, candlelight, Christmas Eve service. Dr. James McKeever, professor of music at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, will play appropriate harpsichord and organ music. The Rev. Glenn Lawson and McKeever will perform a piano and organ duet from the Baroque Chorale, "Break Forth, O Beauteous Heavenly Light;" Katrina Peasley (violin) will play J.S. Bach's, "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"; Nancy Charles (soprano) will sing Handel's "Rejoice Greatly, 0 Daughter of Zion"; and the Chancel Choir will sing William Jennings'"A Virgin Unspotted." The service will end with a non-18th century song: "Silent Night," led by Brad and Nancy Charles doing the original German guitar rendition. There will be refreshments following the service.

n Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4649 Lora St., 7 p.m. candlelight service.

n Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., 4:30 and 11 p.m. Christmas Vigils.

n St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 4 Mile Road, 4 p.m. Family Worship will include a Holy Communion celebration and Christmas Carols, a Candlelight worship will be held at 6 p.m. This service will lead attendees to the wonder and joy of Christmas with the choir and instrumentalists as the congregation gathers around the story of Christ's birth.

n St. Paul the Apostle Parish, 6400 Spring St., 4:30 and 10 p.m. Christmas Eve Masses.

n Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St., service of candlelight and carols with a sharing of the Christmas story at 7 p.m.
