DUKER AND POMAVILLE COORDINATE CHURCH SCHOOL PROGRAMS
The new church school coordinators at the Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church School are Laura Duker for children's programs and Leann Pomaville for junior and senior youth activities. Both have professional teaching experience. Duker was the assistant to the RE director at the 416-member North Shore Unitarian Church in Deerfield, Ill. Pomaville has experience working with sixth- through 12-graders, including at-risk youth groups.
During the 9 and 11 a.m. services Sunday at Olympia Brown, 625 College Ave., the Rev. Dr. Tony Larsen, in "Changed, Not Chained," will reflect on the church's past and future as in a "state of the church's union" address. Also, member coordinator Sharon Erwin will showcase activities and service opportunities offered at the church.
CONCERT SERIES BEGINS AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Celebrating its 10th anniversary under the artistic direction of Timm Adams, the Chicago Chamber Choir, a choral ensemble of 38 singers, presents "My Soul's Been Anchored: Inspiring Hymns and Spirituals," at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 919 60th St., Kenosha (on the corner of Sheridan Road and 60th Street). In anticipation of the Oct. 24 release of its new CD, "Hymns & Spirituals: Strength for the Journey," the concert program features a number of songs, including "My Soul's Been Anchored in the Lord," "Give Me Jesus," "Witness" and "Wade in de Water."
The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the concert in Fellowship Hall of the church.
SHELTERED REALITY DRUMMERS AT TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
The Sheltered Reality Drummers will perform at 10 a.m. Sunday for Rally Day at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St. The drummers uses the power of music to engage audiences and motivate them to make positive changes in themselves, their communities and the world. The Trinity Book Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Education Wing to discuss the book "The Shack" by William Paul Young.
A five-week evening study will begin on "Facing Your Giants," a book by Max Lucado. The group will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and participants are encouraged to bring a sack supper.
EMMAUSFALL FESTIVAL CELEBRATES HISPANIC HERITAGE
Following the noon Spanish-language worship service Sunday at Emmaus Lutheran Church, 1925 Summit Ave., the community is invited to celebrate together on the Emmaus field. The event features homemade food from the cuisine of Mexico, Puerto Rico and Colombia as the church celebrates celebrate Mexican Independence Day and the arrival of autumn. The celebration runs from about 1 to 6 p.m. A mariachi band and other musicians will perform, and two groups of Mexican folk dancers will perform.

UNITED FAITH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH HOSTS PROGRAM
The Missionary Department of United Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 1327 Blake Ave., will hold a program at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. "Seven Steps Toward Following Christ" will be the theme of the messages from seven speakers of various churches in the city.
EBINAL TO SING DURING MASS
Vocalist Regina Ebinal and pianist Dorothy Kortendick will perform music from their new collaborative CD, "Together in Music, an Ocean Apart," during weekend Masses at St. Rita Parish, 4433 Douglas Ave. The two will serve as music liturgists during the 4:45 p.m. Mass today and 8 a.m. Mass on Sunday.

ST. PAUL BAPTIST CHURCH HOSTS CONCERT

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH RESUMES TWO WORSHIP SERVICES
Covenant Presbyterian Church, 40 Ohio St., will return to holding worship services at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school begins during the 10 a.m. service.
There is also nursery care available for children through age 3 during the 10 a.m. service.
BETH ISRAEL SINAI CONGREGATION CELEBRATES HIGH HOLIDAYS
The High Holidays will be celebrated at Beth Israel Sinai Congregation, 944 Main St., this weekend and next weekend. Rosh Hashanah services continue with 9:30 a.m. services on Saturday and Sunday. Yom Kippur will begin with a Kol Nidre service at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27 and continue with 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. services on Sept. 28. There will also be a Yizkor Memorial Service at approximately 11 a.m. Sept. 28.

PROGRAM ON REVELATION AT ST. LUCY CATHOLIC CHURCH
Beginning Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evenings, the series "Revelation: The Kingdom Yet To Come" will be facilitated by Deacon Dan Burmeister at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave. This 11-session DVD-based series features popular Bible scholar and theologian Jeff Cavins.
