NORTH CAPE LUTHERAN CHURCH INSTALLS NEW PASTOR

The Rev. Bradley K. Brown, newly called pastor of North Cape Lutheran Church, 2644 124th St., Franksville, will be officially installed Sunday. The Rev. Paul Stumme-Diers, bishop of the Greater Milwaukee Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will preach and preside during two worship services at 8 and 10:30 a.m.

Brown has served in ordained ministry for 13 years and completed his call as a campus pastor for Lutheran Campus Ministry in Greater Milwaukee. Previously, he served as pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

Brown will be supported by his family, including his wife, Donna, and his two sons, Nathan, 7, and Micah, 2. His wife, the Rev. Donna Brown, serves as pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.

The Browns will be welcomed during the morning installation services. The second service will feature North Cape's praise band, Uplift. The congregation will celebrate with luncheon in fellowship hall beginning at noon.

STUDENT MINISTER TO SPEAL AT OLYMPIA BROWN

In "Returning Home," student minister Morgan McLean will speak at Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church's regularly scheduled Sunday services at 9 and 11 a.m. at 625 College Ave. McLean grew up in the church and graduated from Walden III High School in 2000. She is studying to become a UU minister and is in her third year at Andover-Newton Theological School in Boston. Marilyn Joyce, religious education director, will introduce church school teachers with children attending the first part of each adult service. The new Faith-In-Action church school curricula will involve children and adults in making the community and the world a better place.

RALLY SUNDAY AT PLYMOUTH CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

Children in preschool through seventh grade are invited to Rally Sunday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ fellowship hall, 124 W. Washington St., Burlington.

The annual kickoff to the Sunday School season will feature a puppet show performed by the Rev. Bob Wang, musical entertainment, games, crafts, prizes and a continental breakfast.

Parents are encouraged to attend with their children to meet the Christian education director and Sunday School teachers. Worship service at the church begins after the rally at 10 a.m. with Wang officiating. Regular Sunday School classes begin at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 20.

PROGRAMS OFFERED AT SIENA CENTER

The following programs are being offered at the Siena Center, 5635 Erie St.:

n "God, Jesus and Prayer in a New Story of the Universe," 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 19. Michael Morwood will then hold a special session for spiritual guides/spiritual directors, 3-4 p.m., on applying the concepts to their ministry. The fee is $42.50.

n "Personal Retreat or Time Away." Private retreat may include spiritual direction and programs being offered at that time. The fee for overnight and three meals is $61.50, available year-round except August. Contact Sister Dolores Catanach, (262) 639-4100, ext. 1298.

"Centering Prayer Group," 7-8 a.m. Thursdays. Twenty minutes of silent centering prayer followed by 20 minutes of reading and brief discussion on prayer or spirituality. A freewill offering will be accepted. Facilitated by the Rev. Michael Mueller of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and Pat Shutts of the Racine Dominican Retreat Program. "Women for Women," 1-3 p.m. Sept. 19. All subsequent times are 9 a.m.-noon Oct. 10, Nov. 14, Dec. 12 and monthly Saturdays through June 2010. Come to any or all gatherings for $12.50 per session or $100 for the series.

FALL PROGRAMMING BEGINS AT TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Trinity United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St., will celebrate a return to two worship services and commencement of Sunday School classes for all ages. Worship services are offered at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.

At 1 p.m., Trinity Girl Scout Troop 5907 will begin their fourth season of Scouting for girls in grades 2-7 (Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes). The troop is accepting open enrollment and meets two Sunday afternoons a month in the education wing of the church.

A Bible study class will begin Sept. 17 and will meet weekly from 12:30 to 2 p.m. through Nov. 12 in the church lounge. This study is led by the Rev. Rosalind Dryver-Scott.

DOMINICANS LAUNCH PROGRAM ON WRJN RADIO

Racine Dominican Sister Lois Aceto will host the first monthly segment of "Lighting the World with Truth" at 7 a.m. Sunday. On the second Sunday of each month, listeners in Racine and Kenosha may tune in to 1400 am for the half-hour program on WRJN radio.

The Oct. 11 program will address reconciliation and forgiveness, with guests the Rev. Tony Larson and the Rev. Mike Mueller. Subsequent program topics will include Racine County's Conflict Resolution Center's anniversary, and a program on love, mercy and compassion.

SUNDAY SCHOOL BEGINS WITH RALLY DAY ACTIVITIES

Sunday School at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3319 Washington Ave., begins with Rally Day on Sunday. The program starts at 8:30 a.m. with registration, music, balloon lift-off and a snack to follow. "Jesus Loves Me" is the theme. On that day during 9:30 a.m. worship service, the congregation will welcome new members to the Garden of Gethsemane.

COFFEE, KRINGLE AND THE CATHOLIC FAITH SESSIONS SET

St. Thomas Aquinas, 305 S. First St., Waterford, is presenting two information sessions about a special program for those who would liked to learn more about the Catholic faith. BURLINGTON UNITED METHODIST OFFERS STUDY/DISCUSSION

Burlington United Methodist Church, 857 W. State St., Burlington, is offering a study/discussion on the topic "Finding God In The Shack," at 7 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 17-Oct. 1. "The Shack" will be discussed and "Finding God In The Shack" will be used as a study resource. Margaret Hancock will lead the study/discussion. People should read "The Shack" by William Paul Young in preparation for this study. Copies of the resource book are available at the church or people can share or purchase their own. RALLY DAY AND ALPHA COURSE AT ST. ANDREW

St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 4 Mile Road, will hold Rally Day after the 9 a.m. Sunday worship. Children and their parents will meet the leaders and helpers during this Sunday School celebration. The children will have their pictures taken.

St. Andrew will begin the Alpha Course at 6 p.m. Thursday. This 10-week practical introduction to the Christian faith explores answers to some key questions. Each weekly session begins with an informal dinner, followed by a large group learning time, and ends with small group discussion and interaction. HOLY COMMUNION OPENS NEWLY RENOVATES SANCTUARY

Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 W. Sixth St., welcomes friends and visitors to the newly renovated sanctuary at the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday. The painting, relighting and redecorating of the sanctuary.

PLYMOUTH CONGREGATIONAL TO HOLD RALLY DAY

Plymouth Congregational Church, 1143 College Ave., begins a new season on Sunday with a cookout after the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Hot dogs and all the trimmings will be served in the parking lot near the Wilson handicap entrance. Neighbors are invited.

ST. JOHN TO HOLD CHILDREN'S MASS

St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 700 English St., will be hold its first Sunday Children's Mass in celebration of Cathechetical Sunday, a national day to highlight and celebrate the ministry of passing on the faith. The Mass which will feature the voices of the St. John Nepomuk Children's Choir and will be especially geared for children. Mass begins at 9 a.m. with a pre-Mass concert at 8:45 a.m. A bake sale will follow Mass in the Parish Center.

CHRIST CHURCH PLANS RALLY WEEKEND PICNIC

Christ Church opens its fall programming with a Rally Weekend picnic today and Sunday at the South Pavilion in Pritchard Park, Ohio Street and Durand Avenue. Games and fellowship begin at 2 p.m. Dinner will be served following a 4 p.m. worship service. Those attending are asked to bring a dessert or salad to share and join in the fellowship.

Activities on Sunday include a mini-carnival for children at 9:20 a.m. It will be followed by Sunday School for all ages. Worship services will be at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. when teachers and their classes will be introduced to the congregation.

Bibles will also be presented to second graders at the 10:30 a.m. service.

APPRECIATION SERVICE SET AT SEARCHING TOGETHER

Searching Together Missionary Baptist Church, 825 21st St., will honor the Rev. Willie and Alice Riley during an appreciation service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday for their 27 years of God's work at the church. The Rev. Lewis Doss Jr. of United Church of God in Christ in Sturtevant will be the guest speaker.

JOHNSON TO LEAD REVIVIAL

Minister Timias Johnson of Racine will conduct a revival at 7 p.m. Sept. 14-19 at the Church of God Revival Center, 722 Sixth St.

WOMEN'S DAY SERVICE AT CHRIST CHAPEL

Christ Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 815 Park Ave., will hold its annual Women's Day service with an all-day celebration Sunday. Iris L. Gates of Christ Chapel will speak at 11 a.m. and Tonya Evans of Greater Mount Eagle Baptist Church will speak at 3 p.m.

GREGG CHAPEL TO HOST MASONS

Gregg Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 2237 Howe St., will host the Prince Hall Affiliated Mmasons during a 3:30 p.m. worship service Sunday. Masons from the local and regional area will be in attendance.

The Rev. Judy Esco from Allen Metropolitan CME Church, Chicago, will present the workshop, "Biblical Principles for Christian Commitment," at 7 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 19.

ST. JOHN'S RETURNS TO FALL SCHEDULE

St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie St., will return to its fall worship schedule Sunday with services at 7:45 and 10:15 a.m. The Rev. Daniel B. Quinn will preach the sermon and serve as liturgist. The Senior Choir will sing at the 10:15 a.m. service under the director of organist Arthur Preuss Sr. Vocalists will be Mark Schaefer and Bill Badley.

SERRA CLUB TO MEET FRIDAY

The Racine Area Serra Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Monica's Senior Citizens Home Chapel, 3920 N. Green Bay Road, to pray for religious vocations. A luncheon meeting will follow the Mass.
