Western Racine County Health Department

H1N1 FLU CLINIC: The department will have free H1N1 vaccines available for anyone ages 6 months to 24 years and ages 25-64 with illnesses that make them more susceptible to the flu. Vaccines will also continue to be available to pregnant women, child care providers and health care workers. No appointments are necessary and available vaccines will include both the injectable and nasal spray varieties. Each person needs to complete a consent form, which are available at the library or on the Web, http://wwwwrchd.org

There will be forms available at the clinic. People should not attend if they have a fever.

2009 Kenosha Visiting Nurse Association

SEASONAL FLU CLINIC: Fees are $30 for flu shots and $45 for pneumonia shots. Medicare Part B is accepted.

Aurora Visiting Nurse Association

SEASONAL FLU SHOTS: Shoo the Flu and Pneumonia Too clinics will be offered for anyone ages 9 and older (children ages 9-17 must be accompanied by a parent). Caledonia/Mount Pleasant Health Department

IMMUNIZATIONS: Immunizations for children and adults are offered at regularly scheduled clinics. Fees are $10 for all Caledonia, Mount Pleasant, Sturtevant and North Bay residents; $15 for all non-residents. Fee is exempt for Badgercare and Medicaid patients.

Immunizations include varicella (Chicken Pox), DTaP, Td, polio, HIB, MMR and hepatitis B. Immunizations for adults include tetanus and hepatitis B. TB skin tests are offered by appointment only by calling (262) 835-6429. Clients must return to the health department 48-72 hours later for the test to be read. All clinics will be held at the Caledonia/Mount Pleasant Health department, 10005 Northwestern Ave. (second floor of the U.S. Bank building), Caledonia. The immunization schedule is:

  • First Thursday of the month, 4-5 p.m.
  • Second Monday of the month, 4-5:30 p.m.
  • Third Thursday of the month, 10-11 a.m.
  • Fourth Thursday of the month, 4-5:30 p.m.

City of Racine Health Department

IMMUNIZATION CLINICS: The City of Racine offers immunization clinics in the City Hall Room 4, 730 Washington Ave., on the days listed. A $10 fee is requested for residents of the city of Racine, Elmwood Park and Wind Point; and $15 for non-residents; however, there is no charge if people are unable to pay. People should bring their child's current immunization records.

  • Tuesdays - 4-6 p.m.
  • Wednesdays - 1:15-4 p.m.

BLOOD PRESSURE CLINICS: The City of Racine Health Department will offer blood pressure screening by appointment for City of Racine, Elmwood Park and Wind Point residents. Call (262) 636-9431.

STD CLINIC: The City of Racine Health Department offers walk-in clinics to check for sexually-transmitted diseases. The clinic is for city residents and offers HIV testing (if desired) and will be held in the City Hall Room 4 (lower level). The fee is $10; however, there is no charge if people are unable to pay. Rapid HIV testing with results available in 15 minutes is available by appointment only during non-clinic times, call (262) 636-9498.

  • Mondays - 1-3:30 p.m. 
  • Wednesdays - 9-11:30 a.m.

Visiting Nurse Community Care Inc.

HEALTH SCREENINGS: Visiting Nurse Community Care Inc. provides diagnostic health screens weekly from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays and 2 to 4 p.m. Fridays at the offices of Nutritional Designs & Pharmacy, 2333 Northwestern Ave. For information and appointments, call (262) 656-8400.

Kenosha Visiting Nurse Association

SHINGLES VACCINATIONS: People who have had chickenpox are at risk for shingles. The risk for shingles increases as a person gets older. Shingles is painful and can cause serious problems. There is no way to tell who will get shingles or when it may occur. A single dose of shingles vaccine is recommended for adults age 60 and older and for those who have not had shingles. It is a one-time vaccination. Fee: $225. The Kenosha Visiting Nurse Association offices are at 600 52nd St., Suite 300, Kenosha.
