RACINE - He might still be the mayor of Racine, but Gary Becker's face is no longer a part of the main page of the city's Web site.

Becker's picture greeted visitors to the city's Web site, http://cityofracine.org under the headline "Mayor's corner … ."

City Council President David Maack, currently the city's acting mayor, asked city staff to remove the picture and links after seeing it on the site Thursday. That section of the Web site was removed sometime between Thursday night and early Friday, Maack said.

"With everything going on I felt it was not appropriate for his picture and his welcome to remain on the Web site," Maack said Friday.
