RACINE - A hearing is scheduled Thursday to determine if Bridezilla should be freed from jail.

Karee Gibson Hart, 21, who appeared on the We TV reality show "Bridezillas" in July, was arrested Monday for possibly violating her probation in connection with appearing on the show.

Her attorney Alan Eisenberg said law enforcement had no right to arrest her and that she was only acting on the show.

But John Dipko, spokesman for the Department of Corrections, said they have the right to arrest individuals on community supervision if they believe those individuals violated rules of supervision. He said there is an investigation into Gibson Hart.

Racine County District Attorney Michael Nieskes is also beginning to investigate the case because he may need to represent the Department of Corrections, he said.

The 21-year-old was only acting on the show, said Gibson Hart's mother-in-law, Heidi Hart.

"On camera we played our parts, her being the 'Bridezilla' and I was the weak, intimidated mother-in-law," Hart said in a letter to Eisenberg that she verified she wrote. "I would like to stress that at no way did I ever feel threatened or intimidated by Karee, it was acting for the camera."

The hearing is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday on the fourth floor of the Racine County Courthouse, 730 Wisconsin Ave.
