RACINE - After the first floor of the Lincoln Building was seriously damaged by recent flooding, the United Way of Racine County has temporarily moved to a new location.

For the next four to six weeks the nonprofit organization will be stationed on the fourth floor of the Lincoln Building, 2000 Domanik Drive, rather than on the first, according to United Way spokeswoman Lisa Koenen.

Carpeting, tile and dry wall in the offices all must be replaced, and many office furniture pieces will be discarded, she said.

While the United Way has been cleaning up its own office space, staffers also have been in contact with the American Red Cross to discuss assistance for other flood victims, Koenen said.

To contact the United Way, call (262) 632-5186. The phone system is only available for voice mail messages, but staff members are checking them regularly, Koenen said.
