RACINE - Should the City Council pray before its meetings?

That is the question the Committee of the Whole is scheduled to discuss today, said City Council President David Maack.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. today at City Hall, 730 Washington Ave., Room 205.

4th District Alderman Jim Kaplan suggested the prayer, Maack said, and the aldermen will discuss it today. The Committee of the Whole's decision will be sent to the City Council for approval.

Both the Racine County Board and Congress say a prayer before their meetings, Maack said.
