Beginning Oct. 17, The Journal Times will begin printing a daily prime time television grid on Page 2A. Readers can also find comprehensive TV listings in a new easy-to-use grid on our Web site at: http://www.journaltimes.com/tv

The Journal Times is discontinuing the weekly TV Times after the Oct. 17 edition in favor of the daily prime time grid and the expanded online listings.

The daily grid will list the same channels listed in TV Times, with the addition of the Big 10 Network. The grid will cover television programming between 5 p.m. and midnight.

Readers who prefer to get their TV information online can use our Web site at: http://www.journaltimes.com/tv.

We recently expanded these listings into a colorful, easy-to-use grid where readers will find scheduling for every hour of the day, every day of the week.

The Journal Times will continue to list upcoming televised sports events in our Sports section.

"Switching to daily grids from the weekly TV Times allows us to more efficiently and economically meet the changing needs of our readers," said Journal Times Editor Steve Lovejoy. "Fewer readers use TV Times today because so many people have digital cable or satellite services and use on-screen guides or digital video recorders.

"With a daily grid, we can continue to give readers the TV listings most important to them, and redirect resources expended on TV Times to products more important to all of our readers, such as strong local news and our growing Web site, JournalTimes.com."

The daily grids will accommodate more last-minute schedule changes, so they will be more accurate and reliable. Our online listings offer much more than we're able to publish in TV Times, including more channels and added information. Online, readers will find a fast, user-friendly TV grid that offers seven full days of programming. Select your TV service provider, whether you have cable, satellite or an antenna. Click on a show's title to see an episode synopsis and planned guest stars. Quickly search for specific shows and even customize your grid to show only the channels you watch.
