RAYMOND - A man riding a motorcycle was killed Friday afternoon when a vehicle turned in front of him.
The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of his family, was traveling west on County Highway K about 3:40 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle turned north, cutting in front of him. The motorcyclist was unable to stop and hit the side of the other vehicle.
Witnesses and bystanders pulled the motorcyclist out from underneath his burning cycle and put the fire out. When Fire and rescue responded and found the motorcyclist in the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel requested Flight for Life, but the helicopter was canceled when they were unable to revive the motorcyclist.
The two people in the vehicle were checked by rescue personnel and claimed no injuries.
The accident remains under investigation and possible traffic charges are pending. It does not appear at this time that alcohol was involved. The Wisconsin State Patrol and Raymond Fire and Rescue assisted the Sheriff's Department.
