RACINE - Racine firefighters spent about five minutes putting out a car fire in the parking lot of Infusino's Banquet Hall, 3201 Rapids Dr., Saturday night.

One car was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived minutes before 11 p.m., and that car had started a pickup truck on fire. Radiant heat from the fires damaged several other cars in the lot.

The car was owned by someone who lives in the house just east of the banquet hall, at 3115 Rapids Drive, Moriarty said.

"It was strictly cars, here," said Battalion Chief Rick Moriarty said. "It looked like quite a bit of damage to the one."

According to a press release put together by the department, the fire caused $23,000 in damage to five vehicles when it spread from a 1995 Eagle Summit to four other vehicles. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and is still under investigation.
