RACINE - A man who has been convicted of lewd and lascivious behavior seven times in Kenosha and Milwaukee counties was arrested here Saturday on the charge.
Racine police said James D. Bonnar, 39, was standing in the front doorway of his home in the 2600 block of Washington Avenue Saturday morning, completely naked.
Officers were called to the house, which faces Washington Avenue, by a passerby. When police arrived, they saw Bonnar standing behind a glass door. The report said he was naked, holding his genitals, and visible to traffic.
Police said when Bonnar saw them, he quickly closed his front door. Officers walked up to the house and knocked on the door. Reports said when Bonnar answered, he was fully clothed.
Bonnar was taken into custody for lewd and lascivious behavior.
Officers noted in the report that the Racine Police Department has received other calls about Bonnar exposing himself from his home. Most recently, police responded on March 22 and Oct. 9, 2007.
Online court records also indicate that Bonnar has been convicted of lewd and lascivious behavior at least seven other times since 1995.
The most recent conviction was in 2006 in Milwaukee County. Records show Bonnar pleaded guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious on Sept. 26, 2003. He was sentenced the following month to 18 months imprisonment followed by three years probation. His probation was revoked in August of 2006.
