TOWN OF BRIGHTON - Five people were injured in a three-vehicle collision Tuesday night on Highway 75, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.

Kenosha deputies were called to the crash at Highway 75, north of Highway 142 in front of the Brighton Dale Links golf course at 9:18 p.m. The location is about 1-1/2 miles south of the Racine County line.

An investigation determined that a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, southbound on Highway 75 struck the back of a John Deere tractor that was also southbound on Highway 75. The car then flipped forward and rolled to the left, moving into the northbound lane, where it collided with a northbound 2005 Chevy Malibu.

The operator of the tractor, a 58-year old Kansasville resident, received minor injuries and was not transported by rescue. The driver of the Malibu, a 20-year old New Munster woman, along with her two passengers, a 21-year-old and 15-year-old, both of Kansasville, were also injured and were transported to area hospitals.

The 16-year old driver of the Sunfire, a Salem resident, received the most serious injuries, and was transported by Flight for Life Helicopter to Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa for treatment.

Deputies said Wednesday that it has not been determined why the Sunfire struck the tractor. Measurements and photographs were taken at the scene.

The names of the people involved have not yet been released. Condition updates were not available Wednesday morning.
