SOMERS - The University of Wisconsin-Parkside will celebrate its 40th anniversary all during the coming week, and the culmination will be the inauguration on Friday, Nov. 6 of Deborah Ford as the university's sixth chancellor.

The inauguration, which is open to the public, will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday in the Student Center cinema at the campus, 900 Wood Road. Kevin Reilly, president of the University of Wisconsin System, will preside over the ceremony.

From Tuesday through Thursday the university will have panels about student success, academic excellence, and how the university affects the community. There will be displays about student and faculty research, how to become engaged in a community, and a presentation on entrepreneurship. The end of the celebration comes on Saturday with a gala in the Student Center ballroom.
