RACINE

Mini race car stolen

The owner of a mini race car, worth an estimated $800, reported it stolen to Racine police Monday.

Reports said the car, a maroon convertible Corvette, was parked in the backyard of a home in the 800 block of Harbridge Avenue. It was taken sometime between 5:30 p.m. Sunday and 12:42 p.m. Monday, police said.

The car was just driven in the Fourth of July parade, the owner told officers.

RACINE

Man assaulted by stepsonsAn argument between a 38-year-old man and his two stepsons turned violent Sunday night at a home in the 1700 block of Edgewood Avenue, according to Racine police.

Reports said the man and his wife were in bed around 9:50 p.m. when her sons knocked on the bedroom door and began an argument with their stepfather. The man told police his 18- and 21- year-old stepsons began punching him repeatedly.

The man was taken to Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St., by Racine rescue. He suffered a broken jaw in the attack, reports said.

Police made warrant recommendations for the two suspects.

BURLINGTON

Dog attacks two boys

Burlington police responded to a report of an animal bite in the 140 block of North Pine Street Saturday around 3:30 p.m.

Reports said a 14-year-old boy was walking down the street when a dog lunged at him. Officers observed fresh bite marks on his left arm.

The dog allegedly lunged at another 14-year-old boy, knocking him off his skateboard. Reports said the dog was a "Lassie-type" of a dog. The boy who was bitten was taken to the hospital.

CALEDONIA

Dog bites boy

Caledonia police stopped a speeding vehicle Sunday at 1 a.m. in the 3500 block of Highway 31 and found the driver was taking his son to the hospital to be treated for a dog bite.

Reports said the driver asked the police to follow them to the hospital. Officers observed the child holding a towel with blood on it over his face.

The father of the boy told the police his brother-in-law's dog "mauled" his son's face while they were visiting their house from Arizona. Reports said there were teeth marks on the boy's left cheek just below the eye.

The mother of the boy came to the hospital later and said she thought the boy startled or stepped on the dog by accident.

CALEDONIA

Mailboxes in neighborhood damaged

Caledonia police responded to a report of a vandalism and theft of a mailbox in the 7400 block of Lakeshore Drive July 15 around 5:20 a.m.

Reports said a woman said someone damaged her mailbox post and stole her mailbox, which was black with a red and a yellow flag on it. Police said the mailbox appeared to have been ripped off the post.

Officers observed four other mailboxes were knocked down in the 7400 and 7500 blocks of Lakeshore Drive and one in the 7500 block of Blackhawk Drive.

MOUNT PLEASANT

Various prescription pills stolen from purse in car

Mount Pleasant police responded to a report of a purse stolen from vehicle in the 6600 block of Washington Avenue Friday around 11:15 a.m.

Reports said about $400 worth of prescription pills were stolen, along with $100 worth of makeup in the purse.

The woman told police the trunk of her car had been open.

TOWN OF NORWAY

Harley-Davidson motorcycle stolen from garage

Police responded to a report of a burglary in the 7900 block of East Long Lake Road Saturday around 1 p.m.

A collectible 1972 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, worth an estimated $12,000, was reportedly stolen along with about $3,000 worth of tools, antique fishing lures and a power washer.

The owner told officers he last used the power washer July 2 and when he went to get it Saturday, noticed it was missing.

The owner said he didn't know if the items were stolen at one time or over a period of days.

TOWN OF WATERFORD

Diamonds stolen during rummage sale Town of Waterford police responded to a report of a theft at a house in the 30800 block of River Bend Drive Tuesday around 1 a.m.

A woman told officers she held a rummage sale inside the residence Saturday, during which she believed a $2,100 diamond necklace and $7,000 diamond bracelet were stolen.

Reports said she left the jewelry in a case by the kitchen sink.
