19-year-old man held in connection with triple shooting in Mount Pleasant

KENOSHA - Kenosha Police arrested a 19-year-old man on Tuesday evening in connection to the triple shooting that occurred on the 2200 block of Mead Street in Mount Pleasant last month.

Marquise Walls, who was walking in the area of the 1300 block of 69th Street in Kenosha, was taken into custody at about 7:30 p.m. after authorities received a tip as to his whereabouts, according to a statement released by the department Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, Walls had several bags of marijuana on him when he was arrested. He was taken to the Mount Pleasant Police Station where he was interviewed in regards to the shootings that occurred in the early hours of June 27 in front of a house on Mead Street.

According to the police department, Walls faces two attempted first degree intentional homicide charges and a first degree reckless endangering safety charge.

Three people were injured including a 15-year-old girl in a shooting in the 2200 block of Mead Street shortly after 1 a.m. on June 27.

Two of the three victims, Ashanti Nunn, 21, and Lexis Farris, 15, were treated for injuries and released from Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints hospital, 3801 Spring St. that morning, according to Mount Pleasant police. The third victim, Deangelo McGee, 20, underwent surgery was in intensive care at the hospital the morning after the incident, according to family members.
