Hit and run damages vehicle

After a two-car crash June 19, the vehicle at fault left the scene, according to a report from the Racine County Sheriff's Department.

Around 3 p.m. a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Washington and Raymond Avenues. The vehicle, a gray or silver Oldsmobile driven by an older female, hit another car crossing the road, the report said.

There were no injuries but each car had minor damages, according to the report.

Trailer stolen from home

An equipment hauling trailer was stolen Friday from the side lot of a home in the 5200 block of Vandenboom Road, said Racine County Sheriff's Department reports.

The trailer, valued at $1,000, is a 2004 PJ Trailer with black metal screens and a loading ramp. It was taken early Friday morning and the incident was reported at about 10 a.m., reports said.

Woman robbed of diabetes medication

A 49-year-old Racine woman was robbed Thursday while attempting to enter her residence in the 1200 block of Villa Street, police reports said.

Around 11:24 p.m., the woman, who was carrying several bags, was opening her home's door when a black male approached from the side of the building and forced her inside. The suspect placed a hand over the woman's mouth to keep her from yelling and then pushed her down a few stairs into the basement, according to the report.

The woman's roommate then heard the altercation and called police. The suspect fled with the woman's bags, containing $148 worth of diabetes medication and testing materials, the report said.

Man jumped by suspects in car

A 41-year-old Racine man was robbed Friday around 11:20 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up beside him and its occupant began assaulting him, Racine police said.

The man was robbed of $25 in cash taken from his pants pocket at the corner of West Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. He was not injured, the report said.

The victim knew the male suspect from HALO, Racine s Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization, and had been at a bar with him earlier that night, according to the report.

Man almost loses finger in fight with brother

Two brothers were involved in an aggravated assault around 1:06 a.m. Sunday that resulted in one losing a tooth and the other nearly losing a finger, according to a report from the Racine Police Department.

The brothers, aged 21 and 23, fought about a Fourth of July party held the previous day at their mother's residence, 1518 N. Main St.

The 21-year-old brother was arguing with his mother about party guests when the 23-year-old brother overheard, the report said. The 23-year-old, who is autistic and has a social disorder, then initiated a fight. He bit his brother on the left thumb, chest and one pinky finger, according to the report.

The 21-year-old was transported by rescue to a hospital for puncture wounds to his pinky finger. The 23-year-old brother lost a tooth in the incident, police said.

Man robbed at Fourth of July party

A 21-year-old male crashed a Fourth of July party where he was later assaulted and robbed of his cell phone, valued at $200, police reports said.

The man became intoxicated at North Beach during the fireworks Saturday and attempted to walk home. On his way, he passed a party he was not invited to in the 500 block of Three Mile Road. The man entered the party and at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday was asked to leave. As he turned to go, police reports said he was "jumped" by six or seven males who punched him in the head, kicked him and cut his wrist. They also took his cell phone.

Car hits bike in crash

At 3:10 p.m. Friday, a bicyclist failed to yield at a stop sign and was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Flett Avenue and 17th Street, according to police reports.

The bike's rider, a 39-year-old Racine man, suffered moderate injuries after partially falling from his bike. He was traveling northbound on Flett Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a car heading west on 17th Street. The car's driver was a 33-year-old male also from Racine, the report said.
