Golf clubs stolen from vehicle

Caledonia police were flagged down by a resident of the 7200 block of White Pine Court Tuesday, who told them his golf clubs and bag, worth an estimated $1,800, were stolen from his vehicle.

Reports said the theft occurred sometime between June 29 at 5 p.m. and July 1 at 6 p.m. Police said the door to the garage and the vehicle door were both unlocked at the time of the theft.

The report noted that several other residences in the area had been broken into during the same time frame.

STURTEVANT

Wallet stolen in burglary

Sturtevant police were called to a home in the 3500 block of 97th Street Tuesday for a report of a burglary.

Residents told officers that someone had broken into the home between noon and 5:20 p.m. and stolen a wallet. According to reports, the burglar used a garden pruner to cut the screen of an open bedroom window to gain entry.

TOWN OF BURLINGTON

Furniture stolen from nudist camp trailer

Town of Burlington police were called to the Sun Ray Hills Nudist Camp at 7148 McHenry St. Monday for a report of furniture being stolen from a trailer.

Reports said the owner of the trailer had last been at the camp on July 2. When he returned Monday, a wrought iron table and chairs set, two shelving units and three planters had been stolen off the screened-in porch.

Woman arrested for child abuse

A 38-year-old Racine woman was arrested Wednesday for physical abuse to a child after she allegedly caused her son to fall out of the vehicle she was driving, according to Racine police.

Reports said Chantell Ream of 2045 Kearney Ave. was driving her 16-year-old son home from the library at 7:45 p.m. when they began to argue. The teen told police his mother pulled over at DeKoven and Phillips avenues and he opened the passenger door in an attempt to get out.

Ream allegedly drove away while her son was trying to get out of the car, causing him to hit his head and suffer abrasions to his lower back.

Reports said the teen called Racine police and rescue. Rescue workers treated his injuries, and police arrested his mother.

Ream was also arrested on two outstanding warrants for uttering.

Guns, valuables taken in burglary

Racine police were called to the 2800 block of Douglas Avenue for a report of more than $5,000 worth of items being stolen from an apartment.

Reports said two Civil War pictures, a china plate, two shotguns, two handguns, a musket, safe, coin collection, jewelry, tool box and a DTV converter box, worth an estimated $5,370, were taken. Police said the burglar pried open the door to the apartment to gain entry.
