Bike taken in strong-arm robbery

A 14-year-old village boy told police that his bicycle was taken under the threat of violence at 7:32 a.m. Wednesday near Charles Street and 90th Street.

The boy and two friends, a 14-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy, said a white truck-like vehicle started to follow them while they were on Wisconsin Street. As they turned onto Charles Street, two subjects came running out of the vehicle acting like "wild men."

The suspects then made inquiries about the bike and threatened force if the boy did not give the bike up.

One of the suspects then rode off on the bike. The suspects were later seen loading the bike into the vehicle near the rear of the old Intermet plant. The bike's value is $245.

TOWN OF BURLINGTON

Pit bulls confiscated

Town police and an officer from the Countryside Humane Society confiscated two pit bulls on the afternoon of May 22 from a residence at 34208 Valley Drive in the Bohners Lake area.

Police and Countryside officials had received numerous complaints about the dogs running at large. The dogs were also determined to not be licensed or vaccinated.

Police reported that even as they arrived at the house, one of the dogs ran aggressively toward the Countryside officer.

Car doing doughnut leads to drug arrest

A 26-year-old Oak Creek man is facing charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (second offense), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cocaine after police made a traffic stop at 12:49 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Cady Lane and Saratoga Drive.

An officer on patrol said he made the stop after witnessing a 1970 Olds Cutlass doing a doughnut in the intersection.

Arrested was Jaime Imler, 10065 S. Austin St.

WIND POINT

Car crashes into boulder

A 22-year-old Caledonia woman was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and inattentive driving after a 1998 Chevy Malibu crashed into a large landscaping boulder at 3:10 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of 4 Mile Road and Lighthouse Drive.

Cited was Jennifer A. Heister, 5321 Short Road.

There was no indication of injury in the police report.

CALEDONIA

Old grenade found

Village police called the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad on the morning of May 24 after a resident at 7015 Bobolink found an old grenade under some brush.

Police could not determine if the device was live. The bomb technicians removed it for safe disposal.

FRANKSVILLE

Money taken from grocery

Caledonia police say they have captured a video image of a suspect in the theft of cash May 27 from Rudy's North grocery, 3303 Highway H in Downtown Franksville.

Store personnel said they saw an unknown black male enter the store around 7:30 a.m. carrying an attache case.

Video surveillance later showed that the man entered the store office for a few minutes, then proceeded to the checkout where he purchased a breakfast item.

Two and half hours later, store personnel realized they were missing $400.

Caledonia detectives say the circumstances are similar to other thefts reported recently in the village and throughout the county.

MOUNT PLEASANT

Man facing third OWI

A 60-year-old Racine man is facing his third offense of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after police investigated a crash at 2:28 p.m. in the 40 block of South Green Bay Road.

There were no injuries in the crash in which a 1995 Chevy pickup sideswiped a 2008 Chevy HHR.

However, there were three passengers in the arrested man's truck: his 44-year-old girlfriend and her 19-year-old and 2-year-old sons.

Taken to the Racine County Jail was Samuel J. Trinidad, 1435 Willmor Ave. He was also cited for unsafe lane deviation.

MOUNT PLEASANT

Case student faces pot charge

A 17-year-old Racine youth was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school after he was allegedly found to be in possession of 10 bags of marijuana on the morning of May 29 at Case High School.

Johnny L. Taylor, 715 11th St., was taken into custody after police assigned to the school acted on a tip from a teacher that Taylor was allegedly afraid of being searched for some reason.

CITY OF BURLINGTON

Receipts missing

An employee of Monark Auto Supply, 364 S. Pine St., reported Friday morning that a bank bag containing $2,400 in cash or checks was missing or stolen. This item was actually discovered gone on May 28.
