RACINE - Police are searching for a man who fired several shots at a 29-year-old woman early Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the suspect gave the woman and another woman a ride home Tuesday morning. He apparently dropped the victim off at her home in the 1000 block of Hamilton Street and then left to take the other woman home.
Racine police said the suspect returned around 5:10 a.m. When the victim answered the door, the suspect was talking on the phone. She allegedly heard him tell whoever he was talking to that he was going to kill her.
The woman told police she grabbed a baseball bat and ran, at which point he fired two shots at her inside the house. Both shots missed the woman, who ran out and hid in the backyard, police said.
The suspect allegedly got into his car and began driving around the neighborhood looking for the woman. Reports said he saw her in the 1100 block of Hamilton Street and fired two more shots at her, missing again. He then drove off.
Police said no one was injured in the shooting. The case is still under investigation.
Reports said the suspect and victim know each other and a warrant recommendation has been made for the suspect.
