ST. CATHERINE'S HIGH SCHOOL PROSPECTIVE FAMILY OPEN HOUSE

RACINE - Families and students of all ages are invited to open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at St. Catherine's High School, 1200 Park Ave.

This event is an opportunity for families to receive information on academics, spirituality, athletics, financial aid and more. Faculty, staff and students will be available to explain why it's great to be a St. Catherine's High School Angel.

Those who attend the 7 p.m. Fair Share Meeting in the Auditorium will be entered to win a $1,000 scholarship that night.

MATH FAMILY FUN NIGHT AT WADEWITZ SCHOOL

RACINE - A Math Family Fun Night program will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at Wadewitz Elementary School, 2700 Yout St.

Parents will learn how to prepare their children for the Wisconsin Concepts and Knowledge Exam, the state test that students will take in the beginning of November. Families will also learn how to use playing cards, number cubes, dominoes and flash cards in a fun way to practice basic facts. Students will show their parents how Wadewitz Elementary School uses Smartboards in math classes with lessons aligned to the WKCE test.

DRAMA AND VOCAL MUSIC DEPARTMENTS COMBINE

RACINE - Come look at the freaks! Horlick Drama is presenting "Side Show" the musical at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 and 25, at Horlick High School, 2119 Rapids Drive.

Horlick Drama is combining with the Vocal Music department for the first time to take the audience through the world of freak shows, vaudeville, fame and family ties. Based on the real life story of Daisy and Violet Hilton, "Side Show" is a story of two Siamese twins and their journey of life, love and acceptance. The show features music by Henry Krieger and book and lyrics by Bill Russell, the same creative team behind "Dreamgirls."

Tickets will be $8 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens. Ticket order forms will be available in the Scarlet school office, Drama Department office as well as through e-mail at Horlick_drama@yahoo.com

FALL FESTIVAL AT CONCORDIA LUTHERAN

STURTEVANT - A Fall Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Concordia Lutheran School, 8500 Durand Ave.

FALL OPEN HOUSE AT THE PRAIRIE SCHOOL

WIND POINT - The Prairie School, 4050 Lighthouse Drive, will hold its fall open house from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, for students and their parents interested in learning more about The Prairie School.

Guests will begin their afternoon with a tour of the school's Johnson Athletic Center. Families will then have an opportunity to see more of the campus via student-guided tours that will end in the Samuel C. Johnson Upper School. Here they will have an opportunity to meet faculty and ask questions.

Information on academic curriculum, financial aid and scholarship awards, extracurricular programs, athletics, integrated use of computer technology in the classroom and the school's extensive fine/performing arts program will be available. OPEN HOUSE AT RACINE LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL

RACINE - An open house for families with sixth- to eighth-grade students will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Racine Lutheran High School, 251 Luedtke Ave.

See the school, meet the teachers and coaches, register early, even save on tuition. Bring your friends, family, and grandparents, too. Snacks and drinks will be provided, plus free T-shirts.

THE PRAIRIE SCHOOL HOLDS ENTRANCE EXAM

WIND POINT - An entrance exam for students currently in grades seven through 10 will begin at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 1 at The Prairie School, 4050 Lighthouse Drive.

In order to apply for the 2009-10 school year students in these grades are required to take this exam. Students who score the highest on this exam may be invited back to sit for the Willie Hilpert Memorial Scholarship exam.

Registration for the Nov. 1 entrance exam is required - the deadline to register is Oct. 29. Contact the admissions office at (262) 260-4393 to register and for additional information.

VENDORS WANTED FOR HOLIDAY FAIR

RACINE - Vendors are needed for Horlick High School's Student Government's Holiday Fair that will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 22 at the school, 2119 Rapids Drive.

Booth spaces are available for $55. Call advisor Victor Moreno or student coordinator Jessica Shanine at (262) 619-4300, ext. 8953.
