ST. CATHERINE'S HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS 'WALK WITH A PURPOSE'
RACINE - All students and staff at St. Catherine's High School will participate in the eighth annual "Walk with a Purpose" event today held in memory of Father Schneider, who served on staff at St. Catherine's High School from 1957-1990. Schneider dedicated 43 years to the Catholic Youth in Racine. During his time at St. Catherine's High School, he taught religion, advised forensics, coordinated the guidance program, was a vocational counselor, a director of counseling, principal and president.
In order to reach the goal of $25,000, each student is asked to raise a minimum of $70. Students will seek donations from neighbors, families, teachers, aunts and uncles. Online giving is also available by logging on to the Web at http://www.saintcats.org and click "Online Giving" in the Contents section on the right side of the screen. Proceeds from this event provide money for student activities and scholarships, for the 2009-10 school term.
The day will include an all-school breakfast in the cafeteria and prayer and motivational speaker in the auditorium. Students, staff and volunteers will then disperse to perform service in the community. The day will conclude at noon and students will be released upon their return. Students will be responsible for their own transportation home. For more information on the walk, contact Sue Craanen at (262) 632-2785 ext. 411 or e-mail at scraanen@saintcats.org
