RACINE - For the past several years, the parents at St. John's Lutheran School have been requesting that the school offer a secondary language course.

Two years ago the staff found a teacher who could teach Spanish to students but, because of a family emergency, she had to move out of the state. Two faculty members had relatives who were using a Spanish video series. After previewing the series, the faculty went ahead and ordered the videos through Northern Arizona University. The students are enjoying the video sessions where they have been learning Spanish greeting phrases, places where people could work and names of family members. They especially enjoy the Spanish songs to sing. There are also activity sheets for the teachers to use that go along with each lesson.

The program is being offered to all students from first through eighth grade. For more information about the Spanish series, call St. John's Lutheran School at (262) 633-2758.
