PRESCHOOL HOLDING REGISTRATION
RACINE - Mother's Day Out Preschool, 212 11th St., is accepting registration for the spring semester. Classes begin Jan. 19 and registration is suggested by Jan. 9 to complete applications and reserve classroom space. Personal tours are available.
Mother's Day Out, a childcare center and preschool, serves children ages 1 to Pre-K5. The program operates Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:15 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Children may be enrolled for one, two or three days.

CALENDAR RAFFLE SALE UNDER WAY
RACINE - St. John Nepomuk is conducting its annual Calendar Raffle Sale. Prizes are awarded on a daily basis, and total prizes are in excess of $11,000 annually. Prizes are: Monday through Saturday, $25; Sundays: $50; New Year's Day, Fourth of July and Thanksgiving, $100; and Christmas Day, $500.
In addition to the chance of having their name drawn, people purchasing a calendar will receive a 2009 pocket calendar. Calendars cost $25 and may be purchased by calling the parish office at (262) 634-5647 or the JPIIA School office at (262) 637-2012.
COLLEGE WORKSHOP AT HORLICK HIGH SCHOOL
RACINE - A college workshop designed for junior students and parents will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 12 in the cafeteria of Horlick High School, 2119 Rapids Drive. The workshop, sponsored by the Horlick High School Guidance Department, will talk with parents and juniors about what is next after graduation.

FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION SESSION SCHEDULED
RACINE - Park High School counselors will host a financial aid information session from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 13 in the school's theater, 1901 12th St. Participants will gain valuable information that will help them complete the Free Application for Federal Aid form. Other topics covered include scholarship opportunities, Talent Incentive Program, Park Scholarships and student loans. Questions are encouraged and participants should write down any questions they might as they complete the FAFSA form.
THE LIGHT-HEARTED ASTRONOMER COMES TO THE RACINE UNIFIED PLANETARIUM
FRANKSVILLE - The Light-Hearted Astronomer will be at the Racine Unified Planetarium at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 and 20 at The Planetarium located at Gifford Elementary School, 8332 Northwestern Ave. Highlighted will be noted astronomer and author Ken Fulton.
Fulton, who has described himself as the light-headed astronomer, is best known for his book, "The Light-Hearted Astronomer." Like the book, this planetarium adaptation will inspire and entertain as much as it will inform the audience on the best methods to learn the night sky. Not only does Fulton provide the viewer with numerous tips for naked eye and binocular observing, he also describes the ins and outs for purchasing a telescope.
The program will conclude with a look at the January evening sky with free star maps available.
Reservations are necessary and may be made by calling (262) 631-7093. Due to limited seating, reservations cannot be accepted for organizations or groups. At the school, attendees are asked to park in the east parking lot and enter through the southeast doors.
